THE CHALLENGE

Educators are navigating increasing systemic pressures like burnout, underfunding, isolation, and fragmented communication. In San Diego, a grassroots community of teachers called the Educator's Alliance formed in effort to create a support ecosystem for educators looking to innovate. While a noble aim, the Educator's Alliance struggled with scale and adapting to changing needs and packed schedules. Our team conducted 15+ interviews and identified that a core gap in the ecosystem was a lack of digital tools to expediate the collaborationg amongst educators.

DESIGN SOLUTION

Educators told us they needed safe and trusted spaces for collaboration outside of their current networks. This insight led us to CoLearn, a peer-to-peer collaboration and AI-assisted messaging platform designed to reduce isolation and surface collective knowledge. The prioritizes a structure where educators can easily exchange insights, access shared resources, and build on each other’s knowledge over time. Rather than a single tool, it functions as a scalable and flexible ecosystem for ongoing, community-supported learning.

WHAT I DID

I conducted and synthesized qualitative research, then led the visual design of the platform, shaping its interface, structure, and overall user experience.
