The San Diego Latino Film Festival is a platform for visibility and storytelling. In a time of political uncertainty and shifting narratives around immigration and identity, amplifying Latinx voices carries both creative and social weight. Tasked with designing the poster and visual direction for the festival’s 33rd year, I approached the project as both a designer and cultural participant by balancing celebration with responsibility, symbolism with clarity. The visual system draws from motifs of migration, resilience, and creative lineage. I concepted and executed the poster design, developed the broader visual language, defined the color palette and compositional system, and created scalable assets designed to function as the public-facing identity of the festival.
